dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Results of two methods of Standard Penetration Test (SPT) and shear wave velocity (VS) in liquefaction evaluation are compared. The assessment of liquefaction potential by SPT is on the basis of procedure of seed and Idriss (1971) for sandy soils and of Japanese main road bridges designing regulations for silty soils. The liquefaction potential assessment by the VS method is on the basis of procedure by United States Institute of Standard and Technology (NIST) establishment in 1999. In this Study, South part of Tehran is investigated with 182 Km2 areas. In this limited, 33 boreholes were studied. In these boreholes liquefaction would be occurred because of the soil kind and ground water level. The quantity of VS speed is obtained on the basis of geoseismic (refracction test) experiments and also on the basis of the SASW tests. The peak ground acceleration is estimated on the basis of 475 return period and fifty years conveying for the 7.5 magnitude.
