The editor\u2019s policy is to  include at least one paper on each of the aforementioned topics as well as  providing a balance between theoretic and design oriented contributions in each  journal issue.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"Contribution Guidelines\"><\/a><strong>CONTRIBUTION GUIDELINES<\/strong><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">All contributions to be considered for publication should be sent to the  \tEditor-in-Chief. Authors should make every effort to conform to the  \tguidelines given below for the preparation of their manuscripts:<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<ol>\n<li> Types of contributions are research papers,  \ttechnical notes and discussions. <\/li>\n<li> Three copies should be provided in double spaced typing on pages of  \t\tuniform size, with a wide margin on the left. <\/li>\n<li> Generally, the size of the manuscript should  \tnot exceed 7500 words for papers, 3500 words for technical notes and 1500  \twords for discussions. <\/li>\n<li> Each paper should be provided with an  \tabstract of about 150-200 words, reporting concisely on the purpose and  \tresults of the paper. <\/li>\n<li> The SI system should be used for all  \tscientific and laboratory data; if in certain instances, it is necessary to  \tquote other units, these should be added in parentheses. <\/li>\n<li> Tables, references and legends to  \tillustrations should be typed on separate sheets and placed at the end of  \tthe paper. <\/li>\n<li> Mathematical expressions and equations  \tshould be clearly printed. Particular care should be used in identifying  \tunusual symbols or notations and to upper or lower case letters. Awkward  \tmathematical notations and nonstandard symbols should be avoided. <\/li>\n<li> References to published work should be  \tnumbered sequentially in order of citation and given in the text by a  \tnumeral within brackets, with a reference list, in numerical order at the  \tend of the paper. Engr:  \t\tMech., ASCE<\/em>, 114(3), 1542-1570.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>SUBMISSION OF MANUSCRIPTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For papers produced use a well-known word processor, preferably Word 2003 or  please submit a CD with the final revised version of the manuscript. The file  on CD should correspond exactly to the hard copy. If the CD and the paper  copy differ, the paper copy will be treated as the accepted version. The  preferred medium for CD submittal is in PC-Windows environment. Illustrations  may be submitted in the required form, provided that the file format and the program  used to produce them is clearly indicated and a hard copy is also supplied.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>ILLUSTRATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The original and two copies of each illustration, which may be of reduced  size should be provided. Line drawings may be submitted in any medium provided  that the image is black and very sharp. They should preferably require the same  degree of reduction; large diagrams, more than four times the final size, are  discouraged due to handling difficulties. Lettering should be large enough to be  legible after reduction of the illustration to fit (ideally 7pt. lettering after  reduction). Photographs should be submitted as contrasting black and white  prints on glossy paper. The illustration can also be given in a diskette. Each  illustration must be clearly numbered and the name (s) of the author (s) of the  paper written on the reverse side.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>PROOFS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The author (or the selected author where several are included) will receive a  set of proofs for checking. No new material may be inserted in the text at the  time of proof-reading unless accepted by the editors.
