The epicenter of the earthquake was located at 36.4N and 50.3E. The event devastated many villages in the epicentral region with the estimated intensity of about I0=VII. The seismic motions were strongly felt in Rasht. The event destroyed several houses in Qazvin and damaged the Imamzadeh Qasem in north of Tehran.
